Biography

Yunie LeNoue is a Korean Visual Artist who is currently living in America.

I have studied art since childhood and earned my BA and MFA degrees at Chungnam National University in Daejeon, South Korea.

I have been showing work in galleries for more than 30 years and have achieved success as a gallery and exhibition artist. My pieces are in the possession of private collectors in Korea, Canada, England, Germany, the UAE, and the USA.

I opened a private art school in Daejeon soon after completing my Bachelor’s degree, and have been teaching art throughout my career. I operated my institute for over a decade and taught all levels of students.

Later, while living in The United Arab Emirates from 2000-2007, I worked as a high school art teacher at Al Ain English Speaking School, a private British Secondary School. I earned an AP Art teacher certificate from Cambridge University while at AAESS.

I continue to work with young artists in my studio, and my students have won a number of local and international awards including Gold and Silver Medals in the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards program.

Since leaving Korea in 1997, I have lived and traveled in a variety of places including Hawaii, The United Arab Emirates, Canada, the United States, Turkey, Oman, Thailand, the Philippines, Holland, and Ecuador.

This life of change and diversity has been a source of inspiration for me, and an influence on my style. Many of my pieces evolve from photos, sketches, and journals done ‘on location’.

For example, the work on this page was inspired by a visit to the hillside favela in the city of Guayaquil, Ecuador.
